Hi all -

I bought a 1000w submersive a few months ago from Mark. wow - it was a clear upgrade over my past two subs (SVS SB13 and a HSU VTF-15). I layed up (in golf terms) and went for the 1000w rather than the 2400 since I don't listen that loudly (-15 or so), but I do have a large room (~ 5000 cu ft)

Now its been gnawing at me - am I missing anything by not opting for the 2400?

Are there any objective ways to tell if a 2400 upgrade would anything for me? (by the way, are there subjective differrence between the two amps? I would guess not, but hey - what do I know)

thanks,

MK

Bump...curious as well since I'm considering submersive+ice amp as well vs springing for the 4K version.

I'd suspect most would be able to appreciate the difference.

However, it would simply depend on how demanding the source material is, and how impactful one enjoys their playback experience.

My apologies, yes.. if you're encountering significant clipping on the most demanding material.

My temp HT is less than 2400 CF & I am very pleased with the upgrade. (I have two SubMs)

It is worth mentioning that a key difference between the ICEAmp and the 4kAmp, if you don't already know, is that the 4K amp is able drive another slave cabinet whereas neither the ICEAmp nor the 2400 watt HP amp is capable of doing that.

Mark may be able to provide any other differences aside from raw power/output capability, but considering that the original submersive amp is 1000watts, HP amp is 2400watts, and the HP+ amp is 4000 watts,  Id estimate that the 2400 HP amp can output an additional 4dB or so in SPL than the original 1000watt amp, and the 4k amp can probably output an additional 10dB or so than the original submersive amp (when there is a slave unit attached to the 4k amp).
