and will it be marketed here or over at AV123?
Just to clarify for anyone else confused. Seaton Sound and AV123's brands are entirely separate in production, distribution and support. I obviously am designing subwoofers for AV123, but my intent is very much to allow me to maintain focus on what I offer here rather than trying to be all things to all people. As a very small manufacturer I have advantages and disadvantages that I will look to make best use of in what I offer. My own products are intended to serve holes in the market which are not currently being served. The SubMersive is one of the few sealed subs that has a true 2nd order roll off to below 10Hz while also having sufficient output to fill most any enclosed space to highly impressive levels with 1-8 units. The Catalyst is an answer to what we actually should be doing in large, dedicated theaters, but marketers know that the general public, including both retailers and consumers, are a bit gunshy in going big-active with limited bass extension. The other unique quality is the attention to the full radiation pattern of the speaker. Many talk about ballancing the power response, which they do by simply averaging and summing the total radiated sound. While this certainly helps the subjective ballance in real rooms, this is not the same as achieving smooth, off-axis pattern transitions that are free from separate lobes and "fingers" in the radiation pattern. After further finalization of the designs, you will see this in visual form, not just my posting about it.
