I was wondering when the sparks will be available again or it there are others comparable options out there that I should consider.  Right now I am running a SubM HP with (3) Chase Pro-10's across the front and some DIY speakers acting as surrounds (an older 2-way 8" Seas kit from madisound).  I have been happy with the Pro-10's, but I want to upgrade.  I have always been interested in the Sparks, but now see that they are on hold.  I have also been following the diysoundgroup options as well.  Any recommendations would be welcome.  For budget, the Sparks are at the very high end of what I can afford (and I would have to purchase them one at a time).

Any opinions on this?  If the Sparks are not going to be out again any time soon, does anyone have any recommendations for one of the SEOS designs from diysoundgroup?

I would like to know as well. I currently have the original Sparks but need the new ones to be able to fit in columns I am building for my surrounds. If I can get a firm response that they will be available within, say, 45 days, I would wait. If not, I will sell them and find something with a thinner profile. I really love how they work as surrounds (I have 4 of them) and would love to use Sparks but the current version is a bit too deep for my application.

I have nothing to report.  I'm building a new theater and built the columns to hold the yet-to-be-announced on-wall Sparks.  I built a temporary shelf in the column to hold my current Sparks.  I am hoping by the end of this month there will be some kind of announcement.. My temporary solution looks less awful than I imagined. However, one of these columns is near a theater entrance and the first time someone does a face plant into the Spark, it will be replaced by something else, even if the new Spark is not available.

Next week and the week after will get us largely caught up on cabinet arrivals and see the most recent Sydney, Australia based group buy of more than 36 items shipped out.  I'll also be receiving the differently oriented amplifier for the new Spark in that time as well.  As these things get wrapped up we'll be moving very quickly on the new Spark and 3 way surface mount (yet to be named, probably Catalyst 10S).

Any design sketches and/or performance targets/comparisons you'd like to share in advance?

Curious on the design with a 10" driver and then how that compares in performance to say the Catalyst 8Cs.

I will say up front it sounds awesome. And then if these are doable with the previously mentioned break out amps ...... the possibilities.

I see the possibility of "wides" being used in my new HT once the room is completed towards the end of next year. First I'll move my existing rears for wides to see if it's worth the trouble and expense.
