Mark,

What kind of driver are you offering now, how is the gap between the surround and the cover?

One thing to add, since the Marantz SR7009 has dual sub outputs and better configuration software it has the dual MFW15 Seaton powered subs slamming much harder after tweaking than previously.

Now there is much more power in the region you don't hear but feel, I can only imagine the new drivers dig deeper and much harder.

I have a promising sample in my hands that needs some adjustments in the lead wires and such to allow for safe use of the increased excursion.  It should work out quite well, and fit inside the original cover plate without any spacers.  Once we give the final OK, it's ~8 weeks to have drivers.

Just got mine this week.  Happy to have the sub back and working again.

I was quite surprised at how light the amp is compared to the 20lb Dayton amp I had on there previously.

Anyone gotten a replacement woofer, and if so, how does compare to the original? What % improvement would you say it was?

Which replacement?  Thus far we have only offered the Turbo woofer, and for those with working original amplifiers I have occasionally offered our SubMersive driver as a drop in replacement which makes for an overall improvement but not as huge an output gain as the Turbo woofer with bigger amplifier.

You have a Turbo and an original with Mk2, so I'm not sure which driver you're looking for comparison to?  As posted in a few places on our this forum, we do not yet have a drop-in turbo woofer available, although we've been making progress recently.  Once I sign off on a final sample and place the order, it will be 7-10 weeks before we have drivers.

Good thing I found this! I just received my amp on Friday and thought ... the weight is night and day ... yet more powerful! Looking forward to the install and calibrate tonight.

Mark's amplifiers, even scaled back for the stock drivers are incredible. I trust they'll last the long haul.

I have had my two new amps for well over a year and every time I watch a movie and the bass hits it amazes me how strong and clean they perform. I have not heard the popping and bottoming out god awful noises my original amps created.

Thanks again Mark for engineering a great upgrade option for us MFW owners [thumb]

The general platform and parts of the driver will be used in other designs as well, and this sets some higher requirements than just the MFW Turbo woofer.  We're working on it, but this was set aside for a while as we got a few of our new speaker models to production which we will have at Axpona next week.

It will happen, but it does take an investment of time and funds that takes away from our standard products and takes a while to turn a profit unless everyone is ready to pay $500 per woofer.

Mark,

I'm in no hurry, my 2 Seaton powered MFW's are doing fine, my 3rd and 4th MFW powered by AV123 I have back up and working using another pair of V2 amplifiers I found that I thought I had shipped back. They are loud powering off but continue to work in the basement system.

Good luck at Axpona!!
