I was meaning to post this awhile back as this happened a ~month or so ago.

To start with, not long after I got my SubMersive in 09' I placed the SubMersive where you see it and I was getting an ugly hum from it. Mark worked with me over the phone and finally figured out that it was some sort of grounding issue with the plug over there so I moved it to the left and behind the left side main you see in the picture, its about 20' away. Anyhow, earlier this year I began using a Smart Strip to turn the SubMersive on and off. (btw, the Smart Strip rocks!)About a month ago I decided to try moving the subwoofer where the bad outlet is, but since I use my TV to power on the SubMersive an extension cord would have to be used, I found a nice looking heavy duty black colored extension cord. Anyhow, since then I have been in bass heaven. That 20 feet was huge, I cannot really explain it properly so I will just say that the bass improvement in sound quality, extension and SPLs is at least a 40-60% bump.

First, nice looking system.  Second, that is one serious BR collection you have. Third, it's cool that you achieved such great results by moving the sub.  I moved my sub from it's original spot and that coupled with proper EQ'ing has give me outstanding bass.  Great job,
I simply love this stuff.

Very nice! It's amazing how much placement affects how subs sound and measure. I tried several locations for my HP's before theyI arrived at their current locations. Now my wife wants to move the seating around. Even though it's a PIA I'm looking forward to testing out a few more locations.
Congrats on your results.
Tim
PS I see your a Dexter fan. How about that season ending episode.

audioguy, the room is actually not that big @ 25'x13.5'x8' or 2700 cubic feet. But being that the room is dang near a perfect rectangle, has light colored laminate flooring and huge windows (5'x8' being the biggest, my house is packed with huge windows, they are my babies.) anyhow the room does seem really big, I get compliments on it all the time so thanks for yours.

capecod, yes I am a huge fan of Dexter. Though I only watch the show on blu-ray so I have only seen thru season 5 so please no spoilers on season 6. I consider Dexter the best blind buy I have ever made on any format. I purchased season 1-3 blind in 09' and ended up watching those 3 seasons in 3 day.

James,

great to see you back here.   I learned from Mark fist hand about what a bif difference placement makes.   front placement near screen in my UT theater is a black hole for sound (not good).  the side is most linear but in the corner adds nearly 10db at the expense of some linearity.  Mark choose option 3.  I would not have beleived it if I had not seen the graphs.  The distance between the corner and side locations was only about 8 feet

Glad you found some new love for your sub.
