I've come across some post recently that indicates that going from xlr balanced to rca involves more than using an adapter like this one.  http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_american_recorder_technologies_xlr_female_to_rca_female_adapter?full_sku=339513%2e377   Seems that something like the Art Cleanbox (provided it was putting out a good signal)  might be required to properly convert the signal.

What I'm trying to accomplish is to go from a Behringer DCX2496 balanced xlr output to a RCA input on a HSU MBM-12.  (I'll also have dual Velodyne HGS-15s in the system which do have balanced xlr inputs ).

Although I may not keep the HSU MBM-12 in the system permanently, I would like to experiment and see how sound quality is affected and would like to be sure that I'm not somehow butchering the signal.

I am using the adapter that Mark included in the box when he shipped the SubMersive.  It looks like the one you referenced.  No problem that I am aware of.
