Mark,

I know this is a very debatable issue among people more knowledgeable than myself....but do you recommend any sort of break-in for the Submersive, or can we just hook it up and shake the house instantly?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

The very strong acoustic suspsension of the SubMersive's sealed box largely swamp out the small changes to the suspension of the 15" drivers as they get a workout.  After a few days of good exercise the amplifier's workload is a little lighter, but we're talking about exceedingly minor differences.  I run in the drivers at about 1" p-p excursion before they are tested and sent out to weed out any surprises, and in my own comparisons, I can't identify any appreciable differences between a newborn and 6 month old SubMersive.

Short answer:  No break-in is needed.

Its not the driver surrounds that breakin with a SubMersive, it is your house!  Turn it on, play some low material and then walk aound and fix all the things that break.  Then go to sine sweeps to find all of the things that rattle at all different frequencies.  It is a fun process!

I can hardly wait!     Hopefully they get here by next weekend.     It will be a whole week of rewatching explosions and bass happy movies for me!
