We cycled Art of Flight through the demo sequence every so often as to not excessively disrupt the food court next door.

Doesn't excess bass help with the digestion of food? [idea]

The guys from Home Theater Shack made it back to the room on Sunday when we had the full Atmos decoding working properly and had the following to say here in their Home Theater Shack AXPONA coverage.

Here is what Dennis Young had to say:
Quote:
"I hope those that caught the room earlier were able to go back and have a proper listen. This is what I experienced. By chance, the same clip was playing that I had caught before, The Fifth Element Diva Dance scene, and my hopeful anticipation was rewarded in full. Atmos now engaged, the 3 Catalyst 12Cs, six of the F18 subwoofers (2 F18+ and 4 F18-Slaves) and Sparks filling in height duties and 4k video, full captivating home theater immersion was complete. The only thing that could pull me from my seat was an impending return flight home. A truly jaw-dropping example of what can be done for a motivated home theater enthusiast."

Another fun anecdote from a general attendee was posted here on the Klipsch forum:

Quote:
"Seaton Sound supported by Calibrations - had a home theater demo going on the ground floor next door to Emo. Also very helpfully great guys, more than willing to play your song. Seaton is a Direct Sales Speaker Manufacturer that began life in the sub woofer business and still plumbs the depths of low frequencies. Demo room had three 18 inch subs stacked on both sides of the screen, best kick drum I have ever heard, not sure which speakers it came out of. Looked like conventional speaker driver tech. Another Chicago area company. Guessing Made in the USA"

A nice summary on Mark's room at Axpona by AVS's Mark Henninger:

Go Mark.  Nothing sounds quite like an all-Seaton home theater with ample subs!!

Thank you for the quick post of the link here.  Mark Henninger has experience more than a few high-octane AVS home theaters, so it's great to hear when even the jaded regulars are impressed. [thumb]

This week "AmirM," who has been around the industry and forums for years, posted a brief but nice report on his visit to our room at Axpona at his new forum "Audio Science Review."  Consider that Amir once headed Microsoft's HD-DVD group, he co-founded the What's Best Forum, and started/runs Madrona Digital, a home AV integration company.  He's heard a few great home theater systems including more than a few Keith Yates rooms.  He posted this succinct summary here in the report on our room:

"...they showed the best picture and surround sound at the show. I must have sat there for half hour or more.  We are talking deep, deep bass, and at super high SPL levels. It is the kind of experience you can only get with monster subs and tons and tons of power."

And I think the author of the stoker log software that I have been using for years wish I could have met him there.
