Mark,

I have the HP+ Amplifier running 2 Subwoofers at the front. I am want to install 4 Slaves at the front running off a single Amp. Do you offer rebates on sending back the HP+ Amplifier in exchange of the New Amp?

Is this DSP controlled?

Hi Zahir,

The external rack mounted amplifier is simply a different way to package 2 HP+ or HPi+ amplifiers in a 2RU (3.5" tall) rack mount chassis.  I have not figured any pricing for such an upgrade, but it is certainly possible.  The external amplifier costs a few hundred $ more than the plate versions, but obviously offer the benefit of never having to climb behind a screen wall to check if amplifiers are on or otherwise behaving as expected, and of course then moves the power connection to where ever you locate the external amplifier.

You can also check out thebland's subwoofer system in this AVS thread where we used the external SS2-8000 to power 4 HP-Slaves with an internally powered F2+ & F2-Slave stacked at the rear.
