Seaton Cat12C being used as my center speaker has developed some amp issues i believe. Last night suddenly i couldnt hear the vocals that well and there was a little bit of distortion after every word as well as some words were too low in volume to be heard. I went to the Amp Test tone and there was sound coming from the center speaker but at a much lower volume than the 2 fronts (both Cat 12C and all are set to around the same level of volume / db).

I tried turning on and off the amps a few times and i noticed at times the volume will go back to normal then suddenly drop off to a much lower volume again.

I then unplugged the seaton completely and replugged it back in and now the volume seems to be stable or somewhat at the right db. but i am not a 100% sure it is still the right, in the Test tone it sounds as loud or close to as the other 2 fronts but the noise is slightly different/ of course it is lying on its side so its hard to say if that is why it sounds different and i am not sure if thats how it always sounded, but either way does it sound like the amp is on its way out?

Reason why i conclude the amp is because i have noticed quite a few of the Cat12s seem to have amp issues.

What dB level are you running them at as a mater of interest. I've got mine at 12.  I have had one amp replaced and got a problem now with a loud pop and click with another one.

I had this happen few times on different Cat speakers - try toggling the volume knob on speaker - it get volume back on mine- not sure exactly the issue - dread needing any repairs done
