Need help finding an MFW-15 replacement amp. I have a version 1 MFW with no issues but my Version 2 amp shuts of about every 15 minutes. must be overheating or something, cus it will come back to life on it's own after 5-10 minutes in standby.

Sound like the circuit breaker is tripping and resetting. (assuming it has one)

Is that something I can fix easily or does it just need a whole new amp.

There is a loud hum coming from my mfw now. Would that be an amp problem or a driver problem? Ive replaced the amp twice already, but am pretty sure Im using a v2 amp still. Ive also replaced the driver once already. Is there anything I can try to get rid of the hum. It's as loud as a microwave running I'd say.

Amp.  From what Murrel had found and Kevin & I spotted in a couple we had, it looks like many of the V2 failures were power supply related.  That may or may not be something which you can put a band aid on.

We are making further progress on the amplifier option, but it's still way too early to suggest any availability.

FYI, these are readily available parts from McMaster-Carr if they are needed by anyone.  I'll later post up what is needed, but basically it's a 1/4-20 flat head machine screw ~2" long (black oxide) and a rubber washer that can clear the 1/4" diameter screw.

This is my first post but I've watched for a while. Anybody have a working mfw amp they are willing to part with? I'm considering the turbo but have 2 and 1 still works so a replacement amp should hold me for a while.

Like to unload in the Houston area.  For $350, you can get a Rosewood MFW-15 with a working original woofer but a dead V2 amp.  I can throw in a working V2 amp for free (you know how much these amps are worth), but I'd rather keep it to hold me over till I can upgrade my second sub.  There is no noticeable aesthetic issues (but I did not go over it with a fine tooth comb).  If you are interested, please send me a message.

Update: Reduced to $325.

Good ole McMaster Carr easy to find what you need even if a little on the the expensive side...

Any Developments on the proto driver?  You guys had a chance to put it through the paces yet?

Hey I have a MOHO Diamond finish for sale.  The cabinet is in great condition, the subs dustcap has a dent in it, I can take a pic of it if you want.  I am not sure what version amp it is but I bought it in October of 2009.  Works perfectly and I have never had problems with it.  I would like to get $400 for it.  I can deliver it within reasonable distance from Lake Crystal, MN, or we can meet

What version is yours that's developed the hum? Thanks.

It's supposedly a v3.  I got it last Dec as b-stock.  How can you tell which version it is?

I believe that the V3 amps don't use the upper controls.

Sounds like you have the v2. V3's came out in May of this year. Stereodude is correct about the upper control module not being used.

I'm looking to pickup a couple controller boards from old V2 amps.  Those with V3s might have some they aren't using, or of the handful of people with turbo kits.......

Also "somebody" picked up a bunch of them from the auction anyone know where to get a couple of them?
