I would like to announce the availability of yet another product

The Chase SS-18.X Amp upgrade (not sure of a code name yet)
$495 new or $200 using your amp

This has been something that I have wanted to do but haven't had the time or opportunity to measure and test up until now.

This has been tested and measured to work with both the sealed 18.1 and 18.2 subwoofers.

I have modified the Dayton SA1000 amp
to yield a response curve that will benefit from room gain and give very good response.  The computer model says that it should be ~+/-3db 21hz-140hz, the actual Near Field Measurements with some room interactions are ~+/-3db 24hz-130hz.  The limiting has also been optimized to work with the drivers.  The amp also no longer shuts down that required a physical reset of the power button.   This is all done internal and you still have full function of the stock PEQ giving you a much flatter response to start with.

+/- 21-140
+9.4db at 20hz
+7.2db at 30hz
+4.8db at 40hz
No more shut downs(unless you do something real stupid)

Graph below were actual in room measurements so they are not as smooth as if done outside with no external interactions.

So do we send it to you, have you work your magic, then you send it back? What would the turnaround time be? What would shipping be back to Toronto?

If you already have the amp

You send it to me, I work my magic and then ship it back.  Depending on my day job turn around time should be 3-4 days unless something crazy comes up.

Shoot me an email with a address so I can figure out shipping.
I am thinking that you shouldnt have a problem with duty/tax as you could/ should label it as repair to be returned or something like that?

I may also have another solution

This is awesome, Kevin. Mark turned me on to your modification. Exactly what I need for my room and my CHT 18.1s. After I get my tax refund, I plan on sending you my Dayton amp

Do you guys still offer the SA-1000 upgrade? I have a pair of SS-18.1 running off a single SA-1000 and want to get the most out of these subs. Would I be better off with two separate SA-1000's or is one enough to power both of these subs? My new room is about 25' x 20'

Thanks-
