Scott Wilkinson of AVS Forum did a nice write up about a customer's home theater was featured as AVS Forum's April Home Theater of the Month. This is a rather comprehensive build designed by The Erskine Group by designer Shawn Byrne which included the first 2 pre-production units of our DS18-12 subwoofer which will be part of our upcoming Designer Series conceived for custom installers and theater designers. In this case we are packing the performance of our F18 subwoofer into a cabinet only 12" deep (13" depth needed at the woofer) with a wider and taller package and locating the amplifier in the rack. We also have a related DS18-20 which goes the opposite route of 23.5" deep, but a narrower 20" square face.

These are the 2 18" models in the new Designer Series which will be offered through more conventional CEDIA channels, select consultants, designers, and calibrators.  The model in the above system is the DS18-12 module (12" deep), while the square face unit is the DS18-20 module (20" square face) which was first used in a recent upgrade to Art Sonneborn's well known system from AVS Forum.

Due to production optimization and quantity of production, the F18 is still offers a better deal and a package that looks better in most rooms, but there are still many cases where the F18 won't fit, or we can fit more of these types of subs where we need them.
