I had posted this file previously, and as it is buried in a past thread, I thought I would give this its own post and upload it directly to the forum.  Simply extract the zip file and open the *.cfg file in QSC's Signal Manager v4.75

Note gains are already set at commonly useful levels, although sometimes you will want to change them in the "Options" menu under "Tools."  Leave the gains as they are to start with, and adjust the input or output gains by double clicking the input/output blocks.  All of the blocks of EQ are set to zero gain other than the 200Hz low pass.  Feel free to edit and move things as you see fit, but this gives you an easy and safe starting point.

Here is one more where I quickly added another split to "wire up" the second output.  All other details remain the same.

You should delete this message and "pin" this to the top of your forum for quick reference.  Once word gets out about how cool your subs really are...this place is going to become pretty popular.

You know I have been trying.  But some people take longer to come around then others.  Hopefully we can awaken everybody from their "They Live" slumber.

As much blabbing as I do with this keyboard....I'll round up new subscribers.     But, I kind of like having a more personal forum to the maker of great bass.     I have a feeling that this place will take off when the official web site is up and running.

Honestly, I am not sure there are that many people willing to spend $2K a piece on a large black box that breaks stuff in their homes.

Then they are not really into this hobby.  Risk is part of the game.

Markus,  I'm seeing a need for you to sticky this particular thread.     It seems that I'm searching for it alot now that I'm convincing friends to buy your products (and recommended products).

Any suggestions for how to connect the DSP-30 a gear that only has RCA connections?  The QSC manual didn't seem too keen on simply connecting the GND to the - terminal on the XLR.  The manual states, "it is preferable to use an appropriate audio transformer (or other unbalanced-to-balanced “converter”) to provide a  balanced input."  Are they just being overly cautious?

FWIW, I ended up buying Monoprice XLR to RCA cables to connect my DSP-30 to my receiver and subwoofer.

How complicated/difficult is it to use the QSC DSP30? Do you use it as only an EQ or do you also use it to time adjust the speakers.

I have previously used one of the Bheringer products and am trying to determine if I am smart enough this if I purchase it.  What was it about this product that caused you to select it over the competition.

Just FYI from an AVS member about which adapter works well with this DSP-30:

Enjoy the SubMersive all...

Holy crap that's expensive.

Monoprice has a USB to serial adapter that works great with the DSP-30 for $9.10.  It's item #2067.  I'd link to it but monoprice.com isn't loading for me at the moment.

I also picked up a generic one from OfficeDepot and had no issue for under $20.  Try and find as generic an adapter as possible and you're more likely to not have any trouble, meaning no big box, just the molded adapter.  The only hurdle I have had in some cases is to keep the packaging to possibly help hunt down a driver if you are running Vista.  Works fine on 32-bit Vista, I wouldn't count on 64 bit system working until you try it.

Monoprice.com is working again, so here's a link to the one I used.

Slightly OT but the designers of Vista should be banished. I'd take Windows 98, XP, or any Mac.  Way too much stuff seems to give Vista issues.

FYI, the issue most common for audio headaches has little to do with Vista and more to do with devices that were originally developed long ago and either the users or the creators never bothered to update devices.  There are ways to work around most OS headaches, but the complete stopper for I/O devices is going to a 64-bit system where some of the installers for the old devices are still 16-bit.  The step to the 64-bit system is actually much more of the issue than the OS.

Ah, yeah, those prices are much better!

Thanks for the insight on the 64bit problem, Mark.

Totally enjoying the SubMersive - music is just incredible - a nice surprise considering its prodigious HT capacities...

Hi Mark,

So I ended up buying one of these in an Ebay auction win when deals on three separate used Xilica DSP failed to pan out! As you know how I intend to use my 3 Submersives, 2 symmetrically placed at the front of the room and one in the rear, any chance you could provide a head start template for my DSP-30? If I understand the basics correctly, it would need to reflect my single input -> global parametric EQ -> split to two outputs -> each with it's own delay settings requirement. Did my assessment of the requirements miss anything dumb? Thanks!

Happy Trails!
MTB Vince
